One of the most annoying issues when hitting a golf ball is that you might unintentionally let out a golf slice and this can hold true especially for beginners who lack the consistency in their golf swing, and even professionals tend to suffer from this from time to time.
So if this can even happen to a professional, what can we do to cure it? The answer can be simple once you understand about how golf slice really works.
A slice usually happens when the ball travel from the left then back to the right in an uncontrollable way and is often exaggerated. A hook is essentially the same thing in the opposite direction, from the right to the left. Slice and hook do not usually happen by chance, it is directly caused by the direction your club face during the ball contact.
Thus here are some ways to fix your golf slice issues:
Obviously, the easiest way is to make sure when you land your swing, your club face angle is hitting the ball straight on. Easy as it sound, this is a difficult skill to master, hence the amount of golf swing tips out there. By just understanding this, you can now make a conscious effort to make sure that your club face lands the exact way you wanted it to be.
Another common problem that can cause your swing to be out of line is your golf grip. Your grip have everything to do with the way your club face, therefore you should really take note on how you grip your clubs. Gripping it too tightly can cause your club to face inward on your front swing, and thus causing you a hook, likewise, a loose grip will caused you a slice and sometimes a flying club!
Therefore if you know you have a golf slice problem, be sure to address it before it becomes a regular swing or a habit for you! This can really take the fun out of the game if you can not hit the ball straight, what you want to make sure that you are doing everything correctly. From your golf grip, to stance, body movement, the distance between you and the ball and making sure that you are using your shoulders instead of your arms are all important thing to have consistency during a swing.
