A Look At The Catalina Resort Hotel In The Zihuatanejo Resort Area

Halfway down the coast of the country of Mexico is a semi-hidden beach area known as the Zihuatanejo Resort. Visitors enjoy returning year after year to the charm of this small fishing village with its cobblestone streets. Small shops with a variety of wares and comfortable restaurants and small cafes line both sides of the main street.

This hotel was the pioneer resort that brought tourism to the Zihuatanejo region. When Mr. Alfonso Galindo Mackintosh saw the beautiful, yellow, sandy beaches, he was convinced that this was the area to build the resort hotel that he had envisioned, and he named it Catalina in honor of both his wife and daughter. It was built on a hill overlooking the spectacular La Ropa beach and was surrounded with tropical gardens.

Every room in the Resort has a terrace with chaise lounges and hammocks that overlook the beautiful bay. The terraces were designed in such a way that the guests can relax while enjoying nature at its finest from sunrise to sunset. A table is included on the terrace so guests can share drinks with their friends as they watch the sun set over the bay.

Guests can choose from three different rooms with air conditioning: the honeymoon suite, the deluxe bungalows and the vista suites. Those who prefer a more natural atmosphere and a lower price can opt for the small casitas or the casitas that are cooled by the ocean breeze and fans. The size of the party and the price are the two things that normally determine the choice of room.

Room rates are divided into three seasons: off season, mid-season and high season. Off season rates include a full American style breakfast, while guests who prefer the high season are served a Continental style breakfast. Guests in all three seasons have the option to choose between two meal plans: lunch or lunch and dinner.

Guests will never lack for things to do. There are a variety of water sports and fishing opportunities for guests who enjoy the water. For those who do not, there are two eighteen-hole golf courses, shopping and other activities. Guests enjoy browsing through the name brand clothing, leather items, gold and silver jewelry and the many items that are made by the local people.

The Private Resort in the beautiful Zihuatanejo Resort area offers relaxation and enjoyment to its guests. This semi-hidden, quiet resort area provides tourists with a wide range of outdoor and water sports, shopping and nightlife activities. This is a perfect place to make some unforgettable memories.
