Until the victory of Lee Trevino in 1984, who once again attained the US PGA title using the TaylorMade MetalWood, TaylorMade was then given more acknowledgements and started to increase its popularity.
With the crowd’s growing consciousness which started from Trevino’s victory, TaylorMade got the chance to expand its business introducing its products to more prospective clients. By the time the company was acquired by a French company Salomon S.A., it was even more popular and it expanded extending its market to a worldwide group of patrons.
With TaylorMade’s global reach, it expanded to a number of other TaylorMade golf equipment. Some to mention are the TaylorMade irons, TaylorMade putters, Taylormade fairway woods, TaylorMade golf balls and golf bags. By the year 1990, TaylorMade became the number one brand of metalwood on the PGA tour. Just a year after, it became the number one brand to be used for PGA, LPGA and Senior PGA Tours.
